GENERAL FESTIVAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The Williamstown Theatre Festival accepts agent submissions only. We do not accept unsolicited manuscripts. In addition to agent submissions, we will also accept a synopsis with a ten-page sample and a letter of inquiry. Plays will be considered for production on the Nikos Stage and for our reading series, Fridays @ 3. Submissions are accepted September-March only and should be sent to the address below:

L. ARNOLD WEISSBERGER AWARD FOR PLAYWRITING
The Williamstown Theatre Festival administers the L. Arnold Weissberger Award for Playwriting on behalf of the Anna L. Weissberger Foundation. The award honors noted theatrical attorney and avid theatre supporter L. Arnold Weissberger who passed away in 1981, and is designed to recognize excellence in playwriting.
The recipient of the award will receive a $10,000 grant, and the winning script will receive a reading produced by the Williamstown Theatre Festival during the ’09 Season, as well as publication by Samuel French, Inc.
Nominated scripts must be full-length, unpublished, and not have received a professional production or be scheduled for professional production before December 31, 2008. Musicals, screenplays, or children’s plays will not be considered. Nomination is by invitation only, and scripts will only be accepted as nominations submitted by these institutions or companies. A panel of theatre professionals will select the winner, to be announced next winter in New York City.

Scripts sent to any other address will not be considered. The script must include a title page with the author’s name, address and phone number. Please provide a cover letter introducing the nominee with the script. Submissions must be postmarked by June 13, 2008. Please send copies only, as scripts will not be returned.
